Marbl

Marbl Best Steakhouse Prahran Port Melbourne
Marbl

Address in Prahran: 11 Izett St, Prahran VIC 3181
The steak is so good, they opened another one in Port Melbourne: 79 Bay St, Port Melbourne VIC 3207

This family owned steakhouse offers some of the best steaks in Melbourne. You feel the love and care the owners put into this place the moment you walk in. Their commitment to quality here is obvious in every juicy bite. Looking at online reviews, you will find Marbl is one of Melbourne’s best reviewed restaurants in general, and not only for steak.

Marbl sources some of the finest cuts of meat from local farms in Victoria and Australia. Don’t miss the Mayura Wagyu Rump Steak when you visit, it is my favourite. Some say the special basting Marbl uses makes the steaks even better. Another hot tip: order the cheesecake for dessert. It is the only dessert on the menu, but it sure is worth it.

It is a popular spot so make sure you book a table in Marbl ahead of time. I’m glad they opened another one in Port Melbourne.

Rare Steakhouse

Rare Steakhouse Melbourne Uptown Midtown Downtown

Addresses:
Uptown – 6/61 Little Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000
Midtown – 12 Goldie Place, Melbourne VIC 3000
Downtown – 42-44 King Street, Melbourne VIC 3000

With three Melbourne CBD locations, Rare Steakhouse has got to be something great when it comes to steak! Not one for a vegetarian (let’s be fair, most of the restaurants on this list won’t be), Rare states their steak menu has pasture and grain fed beef that is basted and chargrilled to perfection. Having visited a handful of times now, we can’t argue too much with this statement.

Botswana Butchery

Botswana Butchery CBD Flinders Lane
Botswana Butchery

Address: 66 Flinders Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000

With a few restaurants already in Australia and New Zealand, this relatively new Flinders Lane (Melbourne CBD) gem of a restaurant brings together some top quality local produce. And, as you might guess from the name, Botswana Butchery has some amazing steaks on the menu.

The rib eye steak is top notch and there is a great selection of red wines to accompany it. One to include for a steak night dining experience!

Meatmaiden

Meatmaiden CBD Melbourne
Meatmaiden

Address: 195 Little Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000

You will find this steak house in Melbourne’s CBD. Another aptly named restaurant, Meatmaiden offers quality steaks in a quintessentially moody underground atmosphere that seems to fit the food so well. With a bit of an American feel to the establishment, their range of steaks on the menu has both some classic and unique options to try, ensuring you have an amazing dining experience. Hidden away in the basement on Little Collins Street, I suggest you try Meatmaiden if you haven’t already. And to top it off, they have some cool bourbon and craft beers on the drinks menu too.

The Railway Club Hotel

The Railway Club Hotel Steakhouse

Address: 107 Raglan Street, Port Melbourne VIC 3207

This traditional classy Port Melbourne pub has been a steak staple of Melbourne for over four decades. To the point, you choose the meat you want from the display and see it being made in the open kitchen. Some of the best steak you will find in Melbourne. For something a little different or as an entree, try the Cevapcici special.

Vlado’s Steakhouse

Vlado's Steakhouse Richmond
Vlado’s Steakhouse

Address: 61 Bridge Road, Richmond VIC 3121

This one is a bit of a special gem. The traditional steakhouse with a European feel opened in 1964 and has been a  a haven for meat lovers for over five decades! A meat filled set menu with your only choice being the exact cut of your steak, you are in for a feast. Sure there is a great salad on the side and a crepe for dessert, but you are not really there for these, are you?  A must visit for steak lovers.

San Telmo, Asado, Palermo

Asado Melbourne Steak Southbank
Asado

San Telmo Address: 14 Meyers Place, Melbourne VIC 3000
Asado Address: 6 Riverside Quay, Southbank VIC 3006
Palermo Address: 401 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000

This trio of Argentinian inspired steakhouses (with Asado having some Spanish influences) have the same owner and somewhat similar menus. If you after a great steak with a South American vibe, these restaurants are definitely ones to add to your list. Enjoy your steak with a your pick of wine from their outstanding Argentinean range of wines available.

Grossi Florentino and Florentino Grill

Grossi Grill Florentine Steak
Grossi Grill

Address: 80 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000

While this multilevel iconic Tuscan Italian restaurant is not a steakhouse as such, we just could not skip it on this list. You cannot go past the quality of their steaks. Share the giant Florentine steak or go for one of the other quality cuts on the menu (keep in mind Florentino Grill downstairs is a la carte whereas Grossi Florentino upstairs may have a set menu). One of the best steaks I ever had was in Florence after a long walking tour.

The Meat & Wine Co

The Meat & Wine Co
The Meat & Wine Co

Address: Chadstone, Hawthorn East, Southbank, South Yarra Melbourne locations in Melbourne

African inspired steak house with several locations in Melbourne, Australia and even London in the United Kingdom. With an expansive a la carte menu and a great choice of wines, The Meat & Wine Co is a smooth dining experience in stylish decor that you will likely want to experience again and again.
