Located centrally in the heart of Melbourne, just adjacent to the CBD, Fitzroy Gardens is a special historic place for locals and visitors alike. Initially set up as a reserve in 1848, the world renowned gardens allow you a reprieve from the busy city life and landscape only steps away.

A tranquil atmosphere is offered by the landscape, perfectly suited for leisurely strolls and peaceful contemplation.

Things to do in Fitzroy Gardens

Take a stroll

Go for a walk in the enchanting landscape of the park and get lost in some of the little passageways. Observe the trees, flowers, local animals and birds with plenty of room to do your own thing. You can’t go wrong with this.

See The Fairies Tree

Fitzroy Gardens Parking

Street parking is available in the streets around the Fitzroy Gardens but be aware it can be tricky to find a free one during peak hours. Parking is generally not free, at least during daytime.

How to get to Fitzroy Gardens

Easy to access. Go for a walk from the CBD, along Flinders Lane or Flinders Street from Federation Square. Or catch a tram in the free tram zone.
